A distraction-free editor
Rich text when you want it — headings, lists, bold, links — and nothing on screen when you do not. No word-count goals, no formatting demands.
Features
A distraction-free journal editor, an AI that reads across years of entries, mood tracking that explains itself, habit streaks tied to how you actually felt, and an archive you can search, export or delete at will. Here is the whole product.
01 · Writing
It gets out of the way on purpose. No formatting demands, no goals, no streak nagging you at the top of the page while you are trying to think.
Rich text when you want it — headings, lists, bold, links — and nothing on screen when you do not. No word-count goals, no formatting demands.
Entries save continuously as you type. There is no save button to forget and no "unsaved changes" dialog, because losing a paragraph of honest writing is the one failure a journal cannot recover from.
Write on a plane, on the underground, in a dead spot. Entries queue locally and sync when you reconnect, and conflicting edits are surfaced for you to resolve rather than silently resolved for you.
Attach photos to an entry on any plan. On Bloom and above you can also record a voice note when typing is the wrong shape for what you want to say, and have it transcribed into the entry. Both are stored with the same isolation as the text.
Four hundred-odd prompts for the days when the page is blank, grouped by what you are actually trying to do — decide something, process something, notice something. The prompt library and the guided templates are on Bloom and above.
Bring a journal in from Day One, Journey or plain Markdown. A decade of writing is not a reason to be stuck in an app you have outgrown.
02 · Intelligence
Compline reads across everything you have written and reports what recurs — and shows you the entries it drew on, so you can check the reasoning rather than trust it.
The people, places and themes in your journal, extracted and linked. Useful the first time you notice that a name you have not thought about in months appears in every entry from a difficult fortnight.
Your year assembled from your own words rather than from engagement metrics — the themes that dominated, the shifts, the things you resolved and the things you did not.
The editor, moods, tags, search, calendar and three habits are on the free plan too — forever.
03 · Tracking
A chart is only useful if you can get back to the day behind the datapoint. Every one of these links to the entry it came from.
Which habits actually move your mood, measured across enough days to be worth saying out loud. Reported as correlations rather than dressed up as causes.
Month, week and list views over everything you have written, plus full-text search across the entire archive. Search answers the questions you know to ask; the insights raise the ones you do not.
04 · Ownership
Row-level security enforces the rule that only you can read your writing in the database itself, rather than in application code that could have a bug.
Traffic is encrypted end to end. Entries and attachments are encrypted where they are stored.
Your writing does not train models that serve other people. No ad trackers, and no support tool that renders your entries for a staff member to read.
Markdown or PDF whenever you want it. Deleting your account deletes your entries rather than hiding them.
The full privacy and security picture is its own page — including what is retained, for how long, and what happens to attachments when an entry is deleted.
Seed includes the editor, moods, tags, search, calendar, three habits and twenty AI credits a month — forever. Voice transcription, guided templates and the prompt library start on Bloom, and what the paid tiers mainly buy is how far back Compline AI can read.
