Cookie consent

Compline sets no tracking cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising tags — which is why you have never seen a consent banner here. What it does keep on your device is a short list of strictly necessary items and preferences you set yourself. This page names every one of them.

01

Why there is no banner

Consent banners exist because most sites set things that legally require your permission first. Compline does not set any of them.

  • No advertising or analytics

No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session replay, no ad identifiers, no third-party tags of any kind. There is no analytics vendor in this codebase to disclose.

  • No cookies set by Compline

Compline writes nothing to document.cookie. Sign-in state lives in your browser’s local storage, which never travels automatically with a request the way a cookie does.

  • Only strictly necessary storage

Every item in the table below either keeps you signed in, protects unsaved writing, or remembers a preference you chose. Nothing profiles you and nothing is shared.

  • Nothing to opt out of, by design

A banner is only meaningful when refusing it changes something. Since there is no non-essential storage here, a banner would ask a question with one answer.

This is a statement about the product as it stands today, and it is kept honest deliberately: if Compline ever introduces a technology that genuinely needs your permission, a real consent mechanism ships alongside it and this page changes on the same day. We would rather never need one.

02

What we store on your device

All of it is browser local storage, held on your own machine. None of it is sent to a third party, and clearing it costs you nothing but the preferences listed.

Items Compline stores in your browser
ItemPurposeLifetime
Supabase Auth sessionKeeps you signed in and refreshes your session. Without it you would re-enter your password on every page load.Until you sign out
lumina.themeRemembers light or dark mode, so the app does not flash the wrong theme on load.Until cleared
lumina.timezoneYour timezone, so streaks, calendars and "today" mean the same thing on every device.Until cleared
lumina.draft-rescue.<your user id>A local copy of an entry you are writing, so a crash or a closed tab does not lose it. Removed once the entry saves.Until the entry saves
lumina.push.askedRecords that you have already been asked about notifications, so you are not asked repeatedly.Until cleared
lumina.referral.pendingHolds a referral code from the link you arrived on until your account exists to attach it to.Until you sign up
lumina.verifierA scratch slot used while confirming your current password. It holds no session and is discarded immediately.Momentary

The public marketing pages — the one you are reading now — store nothing at all until you either sign in or change the theme.

03

Third parties

Paystack. Paying for a plan sends you to Paystack's own hosted checkout page. What Paystack sets there is governed by Paystack's cookie and privacy policies, not this one — that page is theirs, and card details never touch Compline's servers. Returning to Compline brings back nothing but the result of the payment.

Supabase and Vercel. Both are infrastructure providers acting on Compline's instructions. They keep short-lived request logs as any host does; neither sets a tracking cookie on your browser for Compline's benefit.

Nobody else. Compline embeds no third-party widgets, fonts, chat bubbles, or social buttons on any page, so no other party gets to see that you visited or to write anything to your browser. The full list of processors, and what each one holds, is in the privacy policy.

04

How to clear it

You are in control of everything above without needing us — it lives on your device, not ours.

Sign out from the app menu to clear the session. Clear site data in your browser's settings for this site removes everything in the table in one action; you will be signed out and your theme and timezone preferences will be re-detected on the next visit.

Blocking storage for this site entirely will stop Compline from working — the sign-in session has nowhere to live — which is precisely what "strictly necessary" means. Private or incognito windows work normally and discard everything when the window closes.

Browser "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals are respected trivially: there is no tracking to disable.

05

Changes and contact

If this list ever changes, this page changes with it and the "last updated" date above moves. A change that introduces anything non-essential would be announced in the app before it took effect, together with the means to refuse it.
